Department: PPW Sleep Lab
FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Nights
Pay: $19.68 - $29.53 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
Summary:
Provides care for patients undergoing sleep studies and sleep disorder treatment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares for the arrival of the patient by setting up and preparing the equipment for the ordered test. Interviews patient to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures.
- Performs testing and any additional testing required for sleep disorder that is noted.
- Scores, interprets and reports results of sleep studies. Educates patients about test results, sleep disorders, community support groups, and available resources.
- Prepares, calibrates, repairs, and maintains equipment required for testing. Determines and reports needed repairs and replacements.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
- High school diploma or GED. Preferred: Graduate of an accredited Polysomnography or Respiratory Therapy program.
- Certified as a Polysomnographic Technologist (CPSGT) required within one year of hire and at discretion of hiring manager.
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
